When do you call it a day?
I deposit 50 dollars at a time on fulltiltpoker and in total ive deposited around 400 dollars on the site due to the fact that I keep busting.
The most I have ever worked my 50 dollar deposit up to was 350 by playing 25/50 cent PLO heads up tables, and 25/50 cent hold em heads up tables. Unfortunatly I ended up losing it all in a matter of minutes. Its the same story with my other 50 dollar deposits that I have made.
I would say the number one reason for me constantly busting would be that I hate leaving a table the loser. I just wont leave my heads up opponent if he/she has any of my money still. I want to either leave the table with all my money or with some sort of profit. However its because of this that I end up losing my entire bankroll eventually.

This might sound mean but really it is for your own good: You should not be playing poker. You shouldn't. If the only way you play is until you lose all your money then you are just gonna keep putting yourself in bad positions and even worse bad mindsets. I would suggest setting a limit. Like if you are down 10% of your bankroll then leave the table for at least a few hours. Of course you should also change your strategy at the table because your style is not working, whether it be calling down with middle pair, going all in with only top pair, or trying to catch straights and flushes you need to revise your style of play.
Alright I understand where your comming from arrytus, and I was wondering if you could tell me what limit should I start playing at if i were to make a 50 dollar deposit?
I would think not more than the .10/.25 games at most. But you should play where you feel most comfortable; that is, where you are not scared to come in for a raise preflop, where posting your blinds do not make you hesitant. I would really suggest you buy or read some poker literature, it's always available online. See things by David Sklansky or Doyle Brunson. Read up on game theory. Watch tables for several rounds before you sit down, to see who is weak, who is aggressive, who bluffs, who folds to any raise or bet.
I don't think this is a question of mindset or the quality of your game, but one of basic bankroll management and is exactly the kind of question that you should bring to the Bankroll Management thread here

I would advise that even if you are practicing a VERY aggresive bankroll management strategy you should still allow yourself 25 buy-ins as a minimum! This means that with a $50 bankroll you will be sitting down with $2. In my opinion you should always sit down with the maximum, usually 100BB (Big Blinds) (you need to be able to compete with the others at the table and maximise your winnings with your good hands) Therefore you will be playing $0.01/$0.02 (if you have a bankroll of much less than $50 you simply don't have enough to play cash games even at the lowest limits!)
What you need to do is overcome 'variance', the short term swings we all encounter simply due to luck. If you lose your $2 you have 24 more chances, and over time the variance will even out and good play will prevail. Remember this is a very aggresive strategy and it is still possible that the variance won't even out enough. If I only had $100 I would still be playing $0.01/$0.02 (50 buy-ins)
At $0.10/$0.25, 100BB is $25! you have 2 chances, and there isn't a player in the world who doesn't have 2 losing sessions in a row sometimes. Losing your bankroll is a certainty, it's just a matter of time.

Wow! Sorry but I've only just noticed that you have said that you are playing Heads Up!
You should be aware that heads up is prone to even higher variance than other forms (The fewer players, the higher the variance, goes for six max too)
Now if this 'your game' fine, but the 25 buy-ins that i advised as a minimum in an Agressive strategy, just became an Ultra-Agressive strategy with very high chances of still losing your whole bankroll.
Therefore if you can build it up to start with, keep playing low stakes even when you have 50 buy-ins and then 100 buy-ins
Even then, read up a bit more on bankroll management (brm), and make sure that you are making informed decisions before moving up to a higher stake
Good Luck

personnelly ive only ever made 2 deposits one at tilt and the other carbon. And thats only so i can withdraw. Read over samangos post u need to 1, Take care of ur bankroll(watch chris fergusons brm) and the rewards u shall reap 2, Stop playing heads up as sam said there is a far widier variance in the chance of winning. 3, After losing so much of ur BR u should be lowering ur stakes until u reach a level to step back up. 5, Never and i mean never keep chasing lost money after losing again so much BR. 6, Learn the game a bit more tilt academy has great vids on different poker syles ect. 7,Play at least 9 man sng low stakes i.e 1 and 2 dollars and build your Br back up( i know its not great cash but it helps build ur BR then move up to 18 27 players before u think of moving up stakes. Between all the posts here i hope u can improve ur game and style as i said watch the academy vids do the challenges doing some of these has helped me turn my game around. so good luck.
Yeah all those things are useful, but make no mistake:- The issue here is brm.
None of that other stuff will make any difference if he continues to puts half or all his roll on one game.

i think you should leave the cash table when you are not feeling it and have lost about 50% of your starting buyin because i think its better to just chill and take a break after a bad session and wayy better then going broke and then eventually going on tilt and losing your entire BR but i obv hardly ever follow this rule

lol sounds stupid i know. But u should...lol. Also id say stop playing before u reach 50% loss of ur BR and take a break. U were right gimme taking a break is always better than losing everything. But who am i to say about how much of ur BR you should be willing to play/lose before u stop. Id also say after winning about quarter/half ur br take a break not just losing. GL ALL
